HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language.

To understand what it actually does, let’s break down that name:

• HyperText: This refers to text that contains links to other texts. It is what allows you to click a link and instantly jump to another page or website.

• Markup: This is the key concept. HTML is not a programming language like Python, C++, or Java. It doesn't have logic, loops, or complex calculations. Instead, it is a markup language—a system of "tags" used to annotate and give structure to plain text.

• Language: It has its own syntax, rules, and vocabulary that web browsers are built to understand.
